New Fridge - Indiana Style

Don't laugh ... it works!

I made Homemade Chicken and Rice soup yesterday evening ... more like bedtime!  It was still boiling hot when it was time to put the kids to bed and there was way too much of it to try to get it all into small containers to cool it down.

So I did what any Indiana Farm Wife would do in the winter time .... I sat the whole darn pot out on a stump!  Works like a charm!  I just love my winter fridge!

Tanya, I didn't realize you were in Indiana also. What part of the state? I definately feel the cold with you. I use the front porch as the 2nd fridge sometimes.

Hee hee, that's great! I have had the same problem with chicken soup many times--A couple of times I was waiting for it to cool and forgot about it and left it out all night. OH!
(I'll have to find a stump outside next time!)

Even us Okies do that on occassion. I remember many Christmases that there just wasn't enough space in the fridge so we sat stuff out on the back porch. The cold front is supposed to hit here tonight then I'll be cold. Just wish it would snow!

If I did that, it would be a soup-cicle LOL But we do that in the winter with things that can be frozen too ... and before it turns ugly out, we leave our sodas outside to keep them cold LOL.
